Mongolia has the second largest yak population after Tibet . Yak has great value in herder’s life. The main purpose of the festival is to promote the yak herder nomads, improve and increase the benefits of the yak-related products, and introduce the yak culture to the world.
This five-day expedition is a sensory feast, where the vast landscapes and nomadic traditions speak volumes. From the nomadic families near Karakorum to the lively festivities of the Mongol Yak Festival, you’ll be enveloped in the tales of the steppes. Share meals with locals, ride horses along the shores of Ugii Lake, and savor the tranquility of ger camps under the starlit sky.

Day 1 Ulaanbaatar to Elsen Tasarkhai

Embark on your Mongolian adventure as we pick you up from your accommodation in Ulaanbaatar. The journey to Elsen Tasarkhai is a sensory delight, with the vast landscapes unfolding outside your window. Arrive at the serene Elsen Tasarkhai,the "Mini Gobi" and experience the gentle sway of a two-humped camel ride. 

In the afternoon, delve into the heart of Mongolian nomadic culture by staying with a Nomadic family near Karakorum city. Immerse yourself in their daily routines, gaining unforgettable experience of their lifestyle.

Day 2 Nomadic Morning and Tsenkher Hot Springs

Awaken to the simplicity of Nomadic life, sharing breakfast and stories with your host family. As we bid farewell, drive to Karakorum city. Karakorum was once the capital of Genghis Khaan's Great Mongol Empire. Visit the Karakorum Museum displaying some items from the ancient city Karakorum. Next, explore the first Buddhist Monastery Erdene Zuu. 

After lunch, venture to Tsenkher Hot Spring in the steppe, where the soothing waters invite you to unwind in the heart of nature. The night is spent in the comforting embrace of a traditional ger camp.

Day 3 Mongol Yak Festival in Ikh Tamir Soum

Wake up to the crisp morning air and a traditional Mongolian breakfast before heading to the Ikh Tamir soum for the Mongol Yak Festival. Witness the grandeur of the yak parade, the exhilarating yak racing, and the skillful yak milking competition, engaging your senses in the vibrant atmosphere. As the day winds down, find serenity at the ger camp near Taikhar Rock.

Day 4 Taikhar Rock to Ugii Lake

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with a view of the stunning Taikhar Rock before continuing to experience the second day of the Yak festival.  Immerse yourself in the festival's energy,tasting local dairy products, and forging connections with the welcoming locals.After lunch, embark on a scenic drive to the picturesque Ugii Lake, where you'll settle into a ger camp. Saddle up for a horse riding adventure along the lake, feeling the rhythmic hoofbeats against the backdrop of the tranquil waters.

Day 5 Ugii Lake to Ulaanbaatar

In the evening, explore the vibrant Sukhbaatar Square, immersing yourself in the energy of the city. Conclude your unforgettable journey with a farewell dinner, reflecting on the sensory delights and cultural experiences shared with your guide.
